Mulan

The Maiden Who Marched

A daughter who took her father's place at the front — a Cavalry commander whose frost-edged blade rallies the riders around her.

History

Mulan is the legendary heroine of China's Northern Wei era, immortalized in the Ballad of Mulan. When war broke out with the Rouran and her aging father was summoned to muster, Mulan disguised herself as a man and rode to the frontier in his stead. For twelve long years she garrisoned the borderlands, her true name never discovered, earning honor in battle after battle. When the campaigns ended she refused titles and rewards, and returned quietly to her village and her loom.

Her tale has been sung from the Southern and Northern Dynasties down to the present day, a story where loyalty and filial devotion stand as one. Beyond her homeland she endures as one of the most recognizable women warriors the world has ever known — a figure carried from a single ballad into legend.

On the Battlefield

Mulan leads from the saddle as a Cavalry hero of the East Asia, a support commander who hardens the ranks even as she sharpens their charge. Her presence lifts the strength of allied riders, driving the front line forward with greater force. Her signature flourish, a whirling dance of the frost-blade, cuts into the foe ahead while her own banner steadies the host — a chosen-warrior's spirit that shields the whole army against the cruelest blows. She is the rare commander who quickens the attack and steels the line in the same breath, a vanguard of devotion as much as steel.
